ABOUT OUR PASTORS

The Waldons accepted the call to serve as pastors of New Jerusalem Community Church in Durham, North Carolina on April 3, 2022, after serving faithfully in ministry leadership together for more than 25 years.  Pastors Ronald and Kimberly Waldon have committed themselves to transforming lives of God’s people to spiritual maturity by reaching and teaching through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  They have been married for 27 years and proud parents of Ronald Waldon, III.

Pastor Ronald P. Waldon, Jr. accepted the Lord’s call to become a minister in 1991.  In 1992, he became licensed to preach God’s Word. Pastor Waldon was publicly ordained in the Gospel Ministry of Jesus Christ in 1997.  Pastor Ronald completed his undergraduate education at Logos Christian College (Michigan) where he graduated with a Bachelor of Religious Arts Degree in Theological Studies.  He is currently attending Shaw University Divinity School pursuing a Master of Divinity Degree (Raleigh, North Carolina).

 

Pastor Ronald served as Senior Pastor of two congregations in North Carolina which include Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church in Durham North Carolina (2012-2021) and First United Church of Christ in Franklinton, North Carolina (2008-2011).  Under his leadership, ministries expanded and grew spiritually and numerically.

Pastor Kimberly Waldon accepted the call to the ministry and preached her Licensed Message on October 6, 2013, and was ordained on November 18, 2018.  Pastor Kimberly received her undergraduate education at Madonna University (Livonia Michigan) where she received her B.S. Degree in Business Administration. She received her Master of Science Degree in International Administration from Central Michigan University (Mt. Pleasant, Michigan) and Master of Divinity Degree from Shaw University Divinity School, Raleigh, North Carolina.

 

Pastor Kimberly served as the first woman Moderator (2019-2021) and Board Chair New Home and Durham Missionary Baptist Association, Durham NC, 128-year-old District Association.  She has also served in leadership roles including Christian Education Director, Youth Director, Teen Girl Director/Advisor, and Women’s Ministry Director at local, state, and national levels.  In March 2021, she launched Kimberly Waldon Ministries, an outreach ministry focused on spiritual growth, ministry leadership and personal development of men and women through classes, training, and mentoring/coaching sessions.
